Jack Elias grew up on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in the 1920s. The son of immigrants from Monastir, Turkey, Elias served in the U.S. Navy in W.W. II on the USS ARB #C68735 and the USS Wildcat, worked in the Maracaibo oil fields of Venezuela, and ended his formal career as an aerospace engineer and inventor. In 2004, when he was 84 years old, his work was exhibited at the Palm Springs Peppertree Bookstore. He continues to draw and enjoy his grandchildren, daughters, swimming, music, and reading.
Corinne Griswold has been a cinephile all her life. For her first film, she chose a subject that is dear to her heart, the life and artwork of her father, Jack Elias. She wanted to share and document the remarkable work that her father felt compelled to produce. Mrs. Griswold teaches math and science at a middle school in Palm Springs, California.
